Sexual Violence: What does gender have to do with it, with Jackson Katz.
Dr. Jackson Katz, Ph.D., is an educator, author, and social theorist who is internationally renowned for his pioneering scholarship and activism on issues of gender, race and violence. He has long been a major figure and thought leader in the growing global movement of men working to promote gender equality and prevent gender violence. Since May is Sexual Assault and Prevention Month, we are hoping to bring community awareness around the issues of gendered based violence and how it impacts everyone. We will be having an in-depth and interactive conversation with Jackson Katz, in hopes that this critical discussion will provide our community with some tangible takeaways on how the systems bind people into repeating harmful patterns, and how we can begin reframing our thoughts to change social narratives.
This event is brought to you by the partners of the Domestic Abuse Resource Team (DART) of Oxford County.
